Pasco County, Florida -- The Pasco County Legislative Delegation has asked Governor Rick Scott to declare a State of Emergency for Pasco County.
On Thursday, U.S. Representative Gus Bilirakis will tour the impacted areas with Pasco County Commissioner Kathryn Starkey, Pasco County Administrator Michele Baker, and representatives from the offices of U.S. Senator for Florida Bill Nelson and U.S. Senator for Florida Marco Rubio.
"We appreciate the support of the legislative delegation," said Michele Baker, Pasco County Administrator. "We hope that since the Governor saw the flooding and the impact on our residents personally, he will issue the emergency declaration for Pasco County and request Federal disaster assistance for Pasco County."
"Pasco County has undergone a lengthy flooding disaster and we need state and federal help," said Annette Doying, Pasco County Director of Emergency Management. "Last night, we called the Director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management and asked the Governor to sign an Executive Order in support of Pasco County."
