St. Petersburg, Florida -- As parts of the country struggle with drought and clamp down on water restrictions, a startup in St. Petersburg has created a mobile car wash company that uses no running water and eco-friendly products.
CitySleekers founder and CEO, Nick Price, said traditional car washes can use more than 100 gallons of water, but his method uses none, except for the 3-6 ounces of water in the cleaning solution.
"The solution takes a lot less water to actually break down the dirt and grime on the car, so we just spray it on the car, let it emulsify the dirt and grime, and we buff and polish," said Price, who added that the solution contains no harmful phosphates or caustics and does not harm a vehicle's paint.
"We life in Florida, and it's a beautiful state, so I wanted to be able to do something where we can give back."
The company is also environmentally friendly with its transportation. Workers travel to their customers and use bikes to get to their location. The workers also bike around downtown St. Pete and can be flagged down for service.
A wash starts at $25, and detailing services are also available for an additional fee.
