Several voting locations changed in Manatee County after hurricanes

Five polling locations were impacted by both Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton, according to county election officials.

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — The Manatee County Supervisor of Elections Office announced that several polling locations will be changed due to impacts from Hurricane Helene and Milton.

"These adjustments are necessary to ensure that affected voters can safely cast their ballots in the upcoming election," officials said in a news release.

Five polling locations were impacted by both storms, officials said. As a result, the following changes have been made ahead of Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 5:

  • Precinct 301 and Precinct 305 voters will now vote at the Island Branch Library.
  • Precinct 307 voters will now vote at the Longboat Island Chapel.
  • Precinct 409 voters will now vote at the State College of Florida.
  • Precinct 421 voters will now vote at the Trailer Estates Recreation Hall.

“Despite these challenging times, we know that Manatee County is a resilient community," Manatee County Supervisor of Elections James Satcher stated. "Our priority is to make sure you can exercise your right to vote in this important upcoming election."

The office added that those committed to voting in person should take advantage of the county's eight early voting locations that weren't impacted, which can be found on the office's website.

Early voting is scheduled to begin on Monday, Oct. 21, and runs through Saturday, Nov. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
