BRADENTON, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol troopers are searching for the driver responsible for hitting and killing a pedestrian on U.S. 301 before taking off.
It reportedly happened around 2:30 a.m. on U.S. 301 at the intersection of 44th Avenue East in Bradenton.
The driver, possibly in a white Nissan, was going south on U.S. 301 near 44th Avenue. At the same time, a man was standing in the travel lanes of U.S. 301 in front of the approaching driver.
This resulted in the driver hitting the man. The man died at the scene, troopers said.
After the collision, troopers said the driver took off and their whereabouts are unknown right now. Troopers said they are unsure about the model of the car, but believe it could be a white-colored Nissan.
Also after the crash, the drivers of an SUV and motorcycle also ran over the pedestrian in the roadway. Both drivers stayed on the scene.
