MANATEE COUNTY, Fla — The search for a missing boater was called off Saturday morning after a boat sank off Anna Maria Island.
The Coast Guard said in a post on X Friday that the 28-foot boat capsized and sank 35 miles off the island's coast.
Two passengers were rescued and given medical attention, the Coast Guard said.
As of Friday afternoon crews were actively searching for a third male passenger.
The search was suspended Saturday morning "pending new information."
