BRADENTON, Fla. — A man who shot and killed his roommate claimed he fired the weapon because he had just been stabbed, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
The shooting happened around 11 p.m. at a home on Fountain Lake Circle at the Fountain Lakes Apartments in Bradenton, the agency said in a news release.
Deputies said they received a call from a 28-year-old man who said he had just shot his roommate. When they arrived at the man’s home, they found another 28-year-old dead inside an apartment.
The gunman talked with deputies at the scene and told them his roommate stabbed him before he shot him, the sheriff's office said.
An investigation is ongoing as the sheriff's office homicide unit continues to review evidence. No one has been charged as of this writing.
