PARRISH, Fla. — A woman died and four people were hurt in a crash Thursday morning in Manatee County, authorities said.
It happened around 6:35 a.m. at the intersection of State Road 62 and Saffold Road, according to a Florida Highway Patrol crash report.
Troopers say a van was heading west on State Road 62 approaching the intersection. At the same time, a truck made a left turn from Saffold Road onto the highway and traveled into the path of the van.
The crash caused both vehicles to rotate, with the truck overturning onto its right side.
A 23-year-old woman inside the truck was killed, FHP said, adding that she was not wearing a seat belt. Three others were hurt, with injuries varying from critical and serious.
The driver of the van, a 59-year-old from Texas, suffered critical injuries.
Video from the Sky 10 helicopter showed at least one medical helicopter and several ambulances responded to a staging area near the scene of the crash.
