BRADENTON, Fla. — A man has died a week after he was found unconscious in the middle of the night in a Bradenton neighborhood.
Sherrone Jackson, a 27-year-old from Sarasota County, was dropped off by a ride-share service around 10:45 p.m. on Oct. 29 near the intersection of 68th Street W. and 12th Avenue.
Police say he was supposed to pick up a spare key left in the mailbox of a nearby home and call another ride-share to get back to his Sarasota County home.
But at 11:55 p.m., Jackson was still waiting for that ride-share. And at 1:45 a.m., someone walking by found Jackson unconscious.
Doctors said Jackson suffered a traumatic brain injury, but it's not clear how it was caused. Jackson never regained consciousness and died from his injuries on Nov. 6.
Now, investigators are asking anyone who may have seen Jackson the night of Oct. 29, or anything suspicious in the area, to contact the Bradenton Police Department at 941-932-9300. Detective Mulligan can also be contacted directly at william.mulligan@bradentonpd.com or 941-932-9313.
