BRADENTON, Fla. — Police arrested a man accused of shooting and killing a 23-year-old man Thursday morning in Manatee County, according to the sheriff's office.
Jeremy Marshall was arrested on Friday and is now facing a murder charge, according to a press release.
Authorities say the victim was found with "a severe gunshot wound to his head" around 8:30 a.m. at the Mel Mar Village Mobile Home Park off of 14th Street West in Bradenton. First responders attempted lifesaving measures, but the man died just a few minutes after they arrived.
A witness told investigators that the shooting happened after two men were arguing. The person who pulled the trigger, now identified by deputies as Marshall, got away before law enforcement got to the scene, the sheriff's office said in a release.
Detectives with the Manatee County Homicide Unit say that they have reason to believe the two men knew each other and may have been arguing over drugs.
Deputies are asking anyone who may have any information on the case to contact the Manatee County Sheriff's Office at 941-747-3011. You may also remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward by contacting Manatee County Crime Stoppers at 866-634-8477 or by clicking here.
