Man accused of robbing Bradenton bank in custody, police say

The man then left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

BRADENTON, Fla. — Police say the man who robbed a bank Thursday morning in Bradenton is in custody, a news release explained. 

The robbery happened around 9:30 a.m. at the Regions Bank on Manatee Avenue West, also known as State Road 64. The suspected robber passed a note to the bank teller demanding money. He didn't show a weapon and no one was hurt during the robbery. 

The man, since identified as 23-year-old Jaquez Barnes, then left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. 

Bradenton police say Barnes has a thin build. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing pink pants and a gray sweater. Barnes had long, black hair, which police say may be a wig. 

Just after 6 p.m. Thursday, police said Barnes was in custody and was being taken to the Manatee County Jail.
