PALMETTO, Fla. — Two people are under arrest after Palmetto Police officers located a man dead inside the trunk of a car with multiple gunshot wounds.
Police found the man at 2 a.m. Sunday at Palmetto Estuary Nature Preserve and later identified the man as Manuel Escobar, according to a news release from the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Homicide detectives learned that Escobar was shot in the area of 28th Avenue and 5th Street East in Bradenton on Saturday after an argument over money. Freddy Sandoval, 25, was arrested in connection with the shooting.
Detectives said 20-year-old Idus Murkerson shot Escobar. Murkerson, wanted for second-degree murder, was arrested by the Florida Highway Patrol in Santa Rosa County.
