ELLENTON, Fla. — A Manatee County man is dead after a 17-year-old driver hit him with her car, Florida Highway Patrol says.
According to an FHP news release, a teenage girl was backing a Jeep out of a driveway a little after 7 a.m. in the area of Bayshore Drive in Ellenton.
A 77-year-old man was taking the trash out near the driveway when he was hit by the back of the Jeep, authorities say.
The unidentified man was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital where he later died of his injuries.
FHP is continuing to investigate this crash.
