Pinellas County, Florida -- A man who came all the way from Michigan to participate in a local triathlon drowned early Saturday morning.
64-year-old Donald Bautel was visiting Florida from Michigan to participate in the "Escape from Fort De Soto" triathlon. During the swimming portion of the triathlon, Bautel appeared to be drowning and swimmers in the area pulled him from the water and began CPR.
EMS and Deputies arrived on scene and Bautel was transported to a local hospital via ambulance where he later died.
Deputies say the drowning appears to be accidental, possibly health related.
