Authorities are searching for an inmate who escaped from a federal prison in Seagoville on Thursday, according to an FBI news release.

William Laurence Stanley, 54, of Dallas, had been sentenced on June 12 to 97 months in prison and ordered to pay more than $5 million in restitution after he was convicted on a retaliation charge.

He was accused of posting "derogatory online articles/blogs/complaints" about a company on Yelp, Facebook and other websites, according to a news release from the U.S. attorney's office. Stanley had previously been sentenced in 2016 to 37 months in federal prison for extorting money from a Dallas business, according to the FBI.

He was at the Federal Correctional Institution in Seagoville, in southeast Dallas County, when he escaped Thursday.

Stanley was described as six feet tall, 245 pounds with no hair and blue eyes. He has the word "Censored" on a dollar bill tattooed across the top of his head, according to a photo released by authorities. He also has a tattoo on the back of his head that quotes the First Amendment, authorities said.

The tattoo on the back of his head reads: "Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech."

Anyone with information about Stanley or his whereabouts is asked to call the FBI Dallas office at 972-559-5000. Tips can also be submitted online at tips.fbi.gov.
