Tampa, Florida -- There are changes coming to the former Hogan's Beach, according to a manager who spoke to 10 News. The sign out front has been changed to Bay Harbor Hotel & Restaurant, not mentioning the former champion wrestler.
The restaurant is still operating with the same menu as under Hogan's Beach.
Code enforcement, however, said that the business has been sold. The department said the change has nothing to do with any violations.
Hogan, live concerts, hot food and cold drinks had brought in long lines of cars with hundreds of people to the establishment that opened on New Year's Eve 2012.
According to a report in the Tampa Bay Times, the restaurant and bar will be re-branded and renamed, ending its association with Hogan, said Ben Mallah, the restaurant's owner.
Mallah told the Times that more information would be available next week and the changes have nothing to do with Hogan's troubles, adding that it was just time for a change. "We're going through a transition. Right now, we're working some bugs out," Mallah said.
In December 2014, residents of the Dana Shores area and nearby businesses had complained to city officials about noise from the restaurant at 7700 W. Courtney Campbell Causeway, Tampa.
Hogan has also been involved in a long-running court fight. The former WWE wrestler, whose real name is Terry Bollea, is suing the news website Gawker for posting a video of him having sex with a woman who at the time was married to Hogan's friend.
The tape was leaked to Gawker, and the FBI investigated. Gawker filed a public records request in federal court for more information about the investigation, and the judge ordered it released. But when it was put into public record in the civil lawsuit, the judge sealed the records.
