WIMAUMA, Fla. — A man is fighting for his life after a driver hit him with their truck and took off in Hillsborough County, according to Florida Highway Patrol troopers.

It happened just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday on eastbound State Road 674, east of 4th Street in Wimauma. Troopers say the driver of a black 2002-2008 Dodge Ram pickup truck was going eastbound on SR-674.

At the same time, a 64-year-old man from Wimauma was walking eastbound on SR-674 in the eastbound travel lane.

The pickup truck driver "overtook and collided" with the pedestrian, sending him into the path of another vehicle, which also hit him.

The man suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to an area hospital.

The pickup truck driver left the scene following the crash, but troopers said surveillance video caught images of the truck and driver.

Anyone with information about this hit-and-run crash or the driver involved is asked to call *FHP (*347) or Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.
