RIVERVIEW, Fla. — Two people were hurt following a house fire Monday morning on Wild Ginger Street, fire officials said.
Firefighters responded to the home just after 6 a.m. after its residents called for help, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.
Once on the scene, rescuers saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the back of the house. Firefighters reportedly put out the fire within about 15 minutes.
One adult was taken to an area hospital in serious condition, while the other adult was checked out outside, fire rescue said. No first responders were hurt.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
