TAMPA, Fla. — The owners of WestShore Plaza have acquired a piece of property near the mall’s parking lot just ahead of a Tampa City Council hearing on plans to redevelop Sears’ real estate, according to a new report.
The Tampa Bay Business Journal reports Washington Prime Group paid $4.3 million for nearly two acres near Westshore and Kennedy boulevards. A Bank of America branch is currently in the space purchased.
City reports show the most recent plans for the space do not include a bank property, the Business Journal reports.
A rezoning hearing is scheduled for May 9.
