DOVER, Fla. — An unborn baby died after a driver crashed into a pregnant woman on a motorcycle, according to a news release.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers said a 35-year-old man drove the motorcycle with the 37-year-old pregnant female passenger eastbound just after 7 a.m. Saturday on State Road 574.
They were stopped at a red light at the intersection of Sydney Dover Road when a 56-year-old man driving a Toyota Venza failed to stop and crashed into them from behind, troopers said. The driver and passenger in the Toyota were not injured while the motorcycle's driver had minor injuries.
The pregnant woman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries but her unborn child died as a result of the crash, according to troopers.
