TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa Police Department officers, along with multiple other agencies, need your help Wednesday finding a man accused of stabbing another man back in March.
Surveillance video from March 4 shows a man on a bike allegedly leaving the area of a sportswear store on East 8th Avenue after police say he stabbed a man. The man seen in the video riding a bike was wearing a dark-colored hat, a blue shirt and dark-colored shorts.
The man stabbed was treated and released from the hospital where he suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to a Tampa Police Department news release.
After further investigation, police determined the victim was homeless at the time of the attack, so officers and homeless affairs liaisons began interacting with the homeless for possible leads into the stabbing. Those in need were provided resources as well, police said.
If you recognize the man shown in the video, you're asked to contact Tampa police or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 800-873-TIPS (8477) or via TIP411.
The department also provided resources for those experiencing homelessness.
