TAMPA, Fla. — Electric scooter and bike riders must park their shared vehicles in docking stations or they will face fees.
Users won't be able to park anywhere anymore starting April 1, according to an X post by the City of Tampa.
Three different companies have their electric vehicles throughout the city including Lime, Spin and Helbiz, which are part of the city's Shared Micromobility Program.
The electric bikes and scooters provide quick and easy travel for short distances. It also reduces traffic levels and improves downtown mobility.
The changes will ensure sidewalks remain open and improve safety, the post said.
