TAMPA, Fla. — An investigation is underway into a shooting Thursday afternoon near the intersection of North Nebraska Avenue and East Paris Street, police say.
The Tampa Police Department says it received several calls just after 3 p.m. about shots fired in the area. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 29-year-old man with gunshot wounds, according to a press release.
Life-saving efforts were performed, but authorities say the man died at the scene. Detectives say they don't believe the shooting was random.
North Nebraska Avenue near East Hanna Avenue has since reopened to traffic. Police have not yet released any information on the gunman.
