TAMPA, Fla. — Three people driving in a stolen car were hospitalized after being shot during a narcotics transaction Tuesday night in Tampa.
Police said they responded to a report of shots fired at the intersection of Marion Street and Tyler Street at 11:15 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a rifle and numerous casings.
Later, two men and one woman showed up at a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The three victims all have prior criminal history involving narcotics and robbery charges and were traveling from Orlando in a stolen Jeep, according to police. Two firearms were found inside the car by law enforcement.
There is no threat to the public and no evidence the shooting was a random act of violence, according to police. Detectives are still working to identify the other subjects involved in the shooting.
