City of Tampa taking new applications for e-Bike Voucher Program

City leaders say a total of 108 vouchers will be available.

TAMPA, Fla. — The application window for the City of Tampa's e-Bike Voucher Program opens tomorrow, officials announced in a news release.

The new round for this year's program will reportedly run from 8 a.m. this Friday, Aug. 18 through 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30. City leaders say a total of 108 vouchers will be available.

Tampa Parking Planning Coordinator Austin Britt, who oversees the program, will announce more details about the application window at 11 a.m. Thursday at the courtyard outside the Tampa Municipal Building on East Jackson Street.

Like the first round, there are $1,000 standard vouchers and $2,000 and $3,000 vouchers for low and very low incomes available, city leaders said in the release. Recipients will reportedly be chosen randomly through a lottery-style drawing and can redeem their voucher at one of the five participating bike shops in the city.

Officials said both Class 1 and Class 2 (throttle-assisted) e-bikes will be eligible for vouchers. Earlier this year, 112 vouchers were redeemed through the program.
