TAMPA, Fla. — An investigation is underway into what led to a man's death before he was found on South 78th Street in Tampa, authorities said.
Deputies responded just after 6:35 a.m. to the area of 78th Street and Rideout Road following a report of a body, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Detectives found the victim died from a gunshot wound.
"After this tragic loss of life, we urge anyone who has information about this homicide to come forward and assist our detectives," Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a news release. "Your cooperation is vital to bringing justice to the victim. Please get in touch with our detectives if you have any information that can help in this investigation."
It's believed there is no threat to the public.
