TAMPA, Fla. — Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies are piecing together what happened after a woman and toddler were found dead in a Tampa home.
A concerned friend reportedly called the sheriff's office just after 8 p.m. on Tuesday, prompting deputies to go to a home on Bloomington Drive near Huntfield Street.
Once at the home, deputies said they found a woman and toddler dead. Investigators believe the woman died by suicide.
However, the sheriff's office says an autopsy will need to be done to determine how the toddler died.
No other details have been released in this ongoing investigation.
"My heart breaks for the family and friends whose lives are forever altered by this tragedy," Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement.
