Man dies after being ejected from car during crash on I-75 in Brandon, FHP says

All northbound lanes of I-75 near SR-60 were closed for several hours but have since reopened.

BRANDON, Fla. — A 50-year-old Temple Terrace man died after a crash Thursday afternoon on Interstate 75 in Brandon, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

A Clearwater woman was driving a Land Rover SUV on the entrance ramp from State Route 618 to northbound I-75 when she failed to make it through a curve in the roadway, drifted off, and onto the access ramp to SR-60. There, she crashed into the passenger's side of a Toyota SUV.

Both SUVs rolled through the grass shoulder and came to a stop in the northbound lanes of I-75. The Toyota SUV flipped over, and the driver, a 50-year-old man, was thrown out of his car. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries, troopers said.

The woman driving the Land Rover was not injured.
