TAMPA, Fla. — A woman was arrested on Tuesday after police said she threatened that a bomb would detonate during a bank robbery in Tampa.

Police said it happened just after 2:30 p.m. at the Grow Financial Federal Credit Union off N. Oregon Avenue.

Maria Montesino, 42, allegedly told the bank teller that a man who was outside threatened to discharge a bomb if she didn't commit the robbery. The teller, who police said was in fear for her life, gave money to Montesino, who then left the area.

Through their investigation, detectives determined that Montesino was lying about the supposed man outside with a bomb, a press release says.

Police said it wasn't long before they found Montesino at a nearby apartment complex. She was arrested just two hours after the robbery.

She is now facing multiple felony charges related to the robbery, including a false report of a bomb and threatening to discharge a bomb.
