TAMPA, Fla. — Success 4 Kids & Families will soon be absorbed by the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay.
On Monday, the two local non-profits announced they will merge operations with a projected date for the transition to be complete set for January 1, 2025. Programs run by Success 4 Kids & Families at the point of transition will be run by the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay as a core service area.
Success 4 Kids & Families was founded in 2005. The organization provides support and services for individuals and families coping with behavioral, emotional or mental health challenges across Hillsborough County. The majority of their services center on bringing care directly to families in need.
Pam Jeffre, Executive Director of Success 4 Kids & Families, said their goal is to make therapy and mental health resources more accessible.
"If you don't have insurance, if your income is low, you can still receive a lot of great services," Jeffre said. "[Therapy] can be expensive. It can also be extremely difficult to navigate. So one of the things that we really offer is navigation and case management."
The merger is a full-circle moment for Clara Reynolds, President of Crisis Center of Tampa Bay, who helped start 'Success 4 Kids and Families' in 2005.
"We'll just be able to enhance the incredible work that they're already doing by providing a lot of the infrastructure needs and those kinds of pieces," Reynolds said.
“This is a strategic move that is a tremendous benefit to our community," Reynolds continued. "The services provided by Success 4 Kids & Families directly align with the mission of the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay. We’ll be able to provide operational efficiencies while still maintaining the unique and valuable services Success 4 Kids & Families provides to our community."
The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay has served the Tampa Bay area for over 50 years. The non-profit organization’s mission is to ensure that no one in our community has to face crisis alone.
The organization currently operates a telephone contact center that answers seven crisis and community information lines; provides trauma counseling at three locations and through teletherapy; serves as Hillsborough County’s certified rape crisis center; and operates TransCare Medical Transportation.
