BRANDON, Fla. — A small plane crashed Thursday afternoon in Hillsborough County with two people on board.
The aircraft went down in a yard at S Parsons Avenue and Forest Circle in Brandon.
First responders say they received multiple 911 calls at 3:25 p.m. reporting "an upside-down plane with parachute deployment in a yard."
The pilot and a passenger walked away from the wreckage with no serious injuries, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue. They were both stable when they were transported to a local trauma center.
The fire department said there were "no hazards involving the plane itself" though the parachute was deployed from the aircraft.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is responding to the scene along with Federal Aviation investigators.
According to a preliminary investigation, the aircraft is a single-engine Evektor Aerotechnik Harmony light sport.
