Purple Alert issued for missing Tampa man

Anthony's family says he functions at the level of an 8- or 9-year-old and has also been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

TAMPA, Fla. — A Purple Alert has been issued for a missing Tampa man with autism.

Police say 33-year-old Anthony Roldan was last seen on Tuesday at his home on W Pine Street off of N Rome Avenue. 

Roldan is described as 5-foot-7 and between 220-240 pounds with a bushy beard and hair. He was last seen wearing a red short-sleeved shirt and dark gray/light black sweatpants.

Roldan's family says he functions at the level of an 8- or 9-year-old and has also been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Anyone who sees Roldan or knows where he may be is asked to call the Tampa Police Department at (813) 231-6130.

A Purple Alert is issued when an adult over the age of 18 with mental, cognitive, intellectual or developmental disabilities goes missing.

It was introduced by Florida leaders in July 2022 and has since helped in finding more than 250 people.
