TAMPA, Fla. — At least one person is dead after a car crash happened Wednesday night in Tampa, authorities say.
At 9:14 p.m., officers arrived at East Busch Boulevard between North 26th Street and North 30th Street after receiving a report of a crash, the Tampa Police Department said in a media alert.
In the crash, a power pole was struck resulting in multiple powerlines down in the area, police say.
At least one person was reportedly killed. There were other people involved in the crash, but their injuries have not yet been revealed.
Due to the crash, Westbound Busch Boulevard between North 26th Street and North 30th Street was closed for several hours. The road reopened overnight on Thursday.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Tampa Electric is at the scene assisting officers.
