TAMPA, Fla. — A motorcyclist died after he crashed into a car and was thrown off on Saturday night.
The 28-year-old Tampa man was traveling westbound on Hillsborough Avenue just after 9 p.m. at a high rate of speed when he hit a Cadillac that was turning left from traveling eastbound, according to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The motorcyclist was thrown from his vehicle and suffered fatal injuries at the scene. His motorcycle also erupted in flames after he crashed.
Pictures from troopers show the motorcycle destroyed and unrecognizable. They also show the front of the Cadillac destroyed with the windows and windshield shattered.
The 67-year-old driver of the Cadillac had minor injuries.
