TAMPA, Fla. — Some sort of an issue with a building's air handler caused a fire Monday morning that sent smoke billowing above N. Nebraska Avenue.
Firefighters responded just before 9 a.m. to the commercial building near N. Nebraska and E. Hanna avenues, where smoke was seen coming from the front door, according to a Tampa Fire Rescue news release.
It's believed smoke traveled through the ductwork, which caused an increase in smoke conditions throughout the building, firefighters said.
The fire was under control within a half-hour. No injuries are reported.
A stretch of N. Nebraska Avenue was closed to traffic as first responders battled the fire.
