Mother of murdered Tampa girl wants answers

Felecia Demerson wants closure in the death of her daughter, 9-year-old Felecia Williams.
Felecia Demerson, Felecia Williams' mother, speaks with reporters on the hunt for her daughter's killer.

ID=9303205Tampa, Florida -- The medical examiner confirmed 9-year-old Felecia Williams, who was reported missing Friday night, was murdered. Her body was discovered Saturday floating off the Courtney Campbell Causeway. Maria Diaz and a friend were fishing when they noticed something in the water.

"And then I said to Pedro, 'Look, I think that is a dead person floating in the water, and it's totally nude,'" said Diaz.

The 9-year-old was last seen with Eboni Wiley, a family friend, who reported the girl missing from her care. Temple Terrace Police arrested Wiley for lying during the investigation, and Felecia's mother, Felecia Demerson, wants to know what she was lying about.

"I would like to know what she is hiding because it's a lot of things on her negligence that's puzzling me," said Demerson.

Police would not say what Wiley lied about, but Felecia's mother says Eboni watched her daughter many times in the past and she trusted her.

"She took her to lunch, took her to church. She did good things with her. That's basically why I can't see her harming Felecia," said Demerson.

Police have not discussed the case with the media, saying it could jeopardize the investigation. So Felecia's mother continues to wait for answers.

"It's been agonizing just wondering why it happened. I need closure," said Demerson.
