TAMPA, Fla. — Pickleball has recently gained traction around Florida as a popular sport for all ages. The combination of tennis, badminton and ping-pong is traditionally played outside, but the Florida heat makes that difficult during the summer.
The Tampa Bay area offers a plethora of indoor spaces for fanatics to indulge in pickleball this summer, including a brand-new complex featuring 14 courts, a bar and a restaurant.
Here's a list of locations in the area:
- Monday: Beginner lessons 1-3 p.m., open play 3-5:30 p.m.
- Tuesday-Friday: Open play 2-5:30 p.m.
- Cost: Lessons and open play are free
- Ages: Age-restricted to 50-99 years old
- Saturday: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Cost: Free with at least one current membership per family
- Ages: Open to all
- Monday: 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Wednesday: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Friday: 6-7:30 p.m.

St. Pete Athletic Paddle and Social Club
The state-of-the-art sports and social club will be opening one of the largest pickleball courts in Florida in early 2025. Memberships are now available starting at $200. The complex offers individual, couples and family memberships and will offer day passes upon opening.
The club will offer 14 indoor pickleball courts, two padel courts and six table tennis tables. It will also house a restaurant and bar with indoor and outdoor seating.
