Michael Aldana, 24, is accused of stabbing 19-year-old Arnold Guiterrez to death early Sunday morning, Nov. 3.

TAMPA, Fla. — A suspect has been arrested after a teenager was found dead following a stabbing in Tampa early Sunday morning.

Michael Aldana, 24, is accused of stabbing 19-year-old Arnold Guiterrez to death, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said in a news release. He is charged with first-degree murder with a weapon.

Deputies responded to multiple calls around 2:20 a.m. before arriving at Carrollwood Apartments near Northgreen Avenue. Guiterrez was found with multiple stab wounds.

Guiterrez was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Investigators determined that Aldana and Guiterrez got into an argument that escalated into a fight before the stabbing occurred.

"Our hearts go out to the family of the young man whose life was ended in this senseless act of violence," Sheriff Chad Chronister stated in the news release. "Thanks to our detectives' hard work and dedication, the suspect is in custody. We are committed to ensuring that those who choose violence are held accountable."

Aldana has been taken to Orient Road Jail.
