Hillsborough County woman wins $1M from scratch-off lottery ticket

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A Tampa woman is $1 million richer after she claimed a top prize from one of Florida Lottery's scratch-off games, according to a release. 

Isabelle Turner, 57, claimed a $1 million prize from the $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR scratch-off game at the Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee. Turner chose to receive her winnings in a one-time, lump-sum amounting to $640,000. 

The Lottery says she bought her winning ticket from Publix, located at 5801 Southwest 75th St. in Gainesville. The grocery store will get a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning lottery scratch-off ticket. 

According to a news release, the $50 scratch-off game, $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR has two top prizes of $1 million a year for life and 234 prizes of $1 million. The overall odds of winning this game is reportedly 1-in-4.5.
