TAMPA, Fla. — Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested the man suspected of stealing a medical response SUV last week in Tampa.
Gregory Mcgall, 37, was taken into custody after deputies received a tip about his whereabouts on Monday, according to a news release. In addition to allegedly stealing the emergency vehicle, he was wanted for stealing a car the same day.
After surveilling the area on the ground and through the air, deputies found Mcgall riding in the passenger seat of a silver Nissan Altima at a gas station near Highway 60 and County Line, the sheriff's office said.
The driver tried to flee but was quickly stopped in their tracks, deputies said.
Mcgall was arrested and charged with several charges including criminal mischief, aggravated assault, grand theft of a motor vehicle and carjacking, among others.
The driver of the car Mcgall faces his own set of charges including fleeing and attempting to elude, aggravated assault on law enforcement with a deadly weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia, among others.
Last week, dashcam video showed Mcgall driving an alleged stolen AMR SUV, as he sideswiped a car on Interstate 75 going to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
“Through their diligent efforts, we successfully arrested two individuals who were wanted for serious crimes, ensuring the safety of our community,” Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement.
