TAMPA, Fla. — People who need minor repairs to their residential or commercial structures can request permits and get them immediately through Hillsborough County.
They are issued immediately after a completed application is submitted online for repairs that don't require a plan review.
Residents can request the permits online through HillsGovHub. People with active building permits that are almost expired or have expired can also request an extension or re-issuance through the online portal.
Officials said structures that require more major repairs will need to be further evaluated before permits are issued. They also released a document outlining questions for guidance if people are unsure of what type of damage requires a permit. You can view that here.
Anyone interested can use the online tool on the website to see what application type to pick. The tool lets you pick the project type and then has a drop-down menu of different things that might need to be fixed. Once you make your selection, the tool will show you which permit type you need.
