TAMPA, Fla. — Three teens suffered only minor injuries after police say they were on a golf cart that was hit by an SUV Monday night in Tampa.
Shortly before 7:30 p.m., authorities arrived at South Dale Mabry Highway and West Dale Avenue after receiving a report of a crash, the Tampa Police Department told 10 Tampa Bay.
Investigators say the three teens were on a golf cart when they tried to cut across all lanes on Dale Mabry Highway. That's when the driver of a Honda Pilot that was heading north on the road slowed down and tried to avoid hitting the teens but was unable to do so.
The SUV reportedly hit the golf cart and the teens were knocked out of it.
Police say the three teens only suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
The investigation of the incident remains ongoing.
