GIBSONTON, Fla. -- A portion of Interstate 75 south of Tampa was blocked for most of Monday given a big spill.
Four vehicles were involved in a crash just after 11 p.m. Sunday, March 25, on southbound I-75 at Gibsonton Drive, causing a load of roadway paint and diesel fuel to spill across the road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The two inside lanes were reopened as of 2 p.m. Monday. The remaining lanes have been reopened to traffic as of 3:30 p.m.
Travis Earl Blue, a 41-year-old Union Springs, Alabama, man suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Despite the outside southbound lane originally being reopened, the road needed to be repaired, authorities said. Drivers were asked to use U.S. 301 or U.S. 41 as alternate routes.
