Florida State Fair's opening is postponed Sunday: See when it opens

Admission is reduced to $3 per person.

TAMPA, Fla. — Soggy weather forced the Florida State Fair to postpone its opening to 3 p.m. on the final weekend day of the annual event.

That means, at least for now, no rides and no unique food to enjoy.

But for those willing to brave the conditions, the fair announced admission will be reduced to $3 per person when it opens at 3 p.m. Sunday. This is due to the potential for limited operations, it said.

Planned fireworks for tonight also have been pushed back to 8 p.m. Monday, the last day of the fair.

The ride midway will be dependent on weather conditions throughout the rest of the day.

The Florida State Fair kicked off its 120th season on Feb. 8 and again features midway rides, exhibits, live music and, of course, all the creative and wacky food options.

Monday is Kid's Day, with free admission offered for kids aged 17 and younger with an admission-paying parent or guardian. Gates are open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
