VALRICO, Fla — Firefighters had to rescue a woman who ran back into a burning Valrico home Monday night.
The fire broke out after 8 p.m. Monday in the area of Highgate Drive and Upland Place.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue says the homeowner told them his wife had run into the house to get medication. She collapsed and had to be pulled out by firefighters as the house was coming down.
She was taken to a local hospital with smoke-related injuries.
The fire was under control in 45 minutes. No other injuries were reported.
