DOVER, Fla. — A Hillsborough County firefighter was transported to the hospital after crews worked to put out a two-story house fire in Dover, authorities said.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue received a call about a small barn fire at 3:21 a.m. Wednesday near the area of North Dover Road and Sydney Road, according to a news release. Crews reportedly could see a column of smoke from a distance away.
When responders made it to the scene, they saw it was a two-story house with an attached barn fully in flames.
Crews say they took out the fire with water tanker trucks in a shuttle and another tank holding thousands of gallons of water. Everyone inside the house was reported to be outside and away from the fire.
Fire rescue crews said one firefighter was taken away from the scene but is expected to be OK.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
