HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested an elderly man Friday after he was accused of showing sexually explicit content to a minor.
James Nezbeth, 70, faces charges Friday for extortion, lewd and lascivious conduct, and selling or distributing obscene material to a minor.
Investigators received a tip from someone on March 11 saying Nezbeth showed sexually explicit content to a minor in May 2023. They also claimed he enticed “lewd and lascivious conduct” from the minor, authorities said.
After further investigation, deputies decided to obtain a warrant for his arrest on March 27, arresting Nezbeth two days later.
"This individual's actions are despicable, and I am thankful our team was able to get this man off the streets and stop him from hurting any more potential victims," Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement.
