TAMPA, Fla. — Residents in the Tampa Bay area impacted by hurricanes Helene and Milton can apply for the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) in person.

The program, which is a partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Florida Department of Children and Families, provides food assistance for those who are not receiving food assistance through the regular Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), officials say.

Below is a list of places where residents in the Bay area can find D-SNAP assistance this week.

Hillsborough County

  • Where: Raymond James Stadium — 4201 N. Dale Mabry Hwy in Tampa
  • Dates: Dec. 3-5
  • Time: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Polk County

  • Where: RP Funding Center — 701 W. Lime St. in Lakeland
  • Dates: Dec. 6-8
  • Hours: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Pinellas County

  • Where: Tropicana Field — 1 Tropicana Dr. in St. Petersburg
  • Dates: Dec. 7-9

How do I know if I'm eligible for on-site assistance?

According to the Florida Department of Children and Families' website, anyone receiving regular SNAP benefits can not receive D-SNAP assistance. Florida residents should only attend the event in their respective county, or they will not be eligible.

Those who applied for D-SNAP and were approved during a telephone interview will receive their EBT card by mail and do not need to attend the on-site location, the website adds.

More information on overall eligibility requirements can be found on the Florida DCF website.
