Tampa police release video of Barrymore Hotel robbery suspect, asking for public's help

​Police described the suspect as wearing dark clothing while carrying a backpack. He left on a bicycle in an unknown direction.

TAMPA, Fla. — Detectives for the Tampa Police Department are looking for a man officers say was involved in a robbery at the Barrymore Hotel in downtown.

The incident happened shortly before 4:30 a.m. on July 30. Police said the man was seen rummaging through the cash register after climbing over the front reception counter. 

New surveillance footage released by Tampa police shows the man throwing cash at the employees outside the hotel. According to authorities, the suspect then pulled out a knife on them. 

No injuries were reported in the incident. 

Police described the man to be dressed in dark clothing while carrying a backpack. He is said to have left on a bicycle in an unknown direction.
