BRANDON, Fla. — Firefighters found a dog who had died in a house fire after putting out the blaze Wednesday morning in Brandon.
Shortly before 7:30 a.m., Hillsborough Fire Rescue workers were called to Stratford Manor Drive by a neighbor who reported smoke coming from the garage roof. Rescue workers fought the fire, encountering flames near the kitchen and smoke down to the floor throughout the house. It took ten minutes for them to contain the fire.
As they searched the house, firefighters found a dog that had died from the conditions. No residents or first responders were hurt. Investigators are trying to determine what caused the fire.
