TAMPA, Fla. ā€” Hillsborough County deputies located and found three kayakers who were stranded in the dark on the Hillsborough River.

Law enforcement received a report of the stranded kayakers on Sunday around 6:30 p.m. The three were unable to find their exit point as it became dark and called for help.

The sheriff's office's aviation team used technology to quickly find the individuals and worked with fire rescue and park rangers to get them back to safety, according to an X post.

"This successful rescue demonstrates the importance of teamwork and the specialized skills our units bring to every situation," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "We are proud of our deputies and partners who ensured these individuals returned home safely."

The kayakers were all rescued without any injuries.
